TEHRAN (Fars News Agency)- Iran for the first time produced an internationally-approved anti-allergy vaccine, a member of Iran's Biotechnology Research Center said.

Dr. Shakour Omidi, who is a member of the research team of the project, said that the vaccine has been produced through cooperation between Biotechnology Research Center and the Association for Supporting Diabetic Patients. 

BALTIMORE, Oct. 5 (UPI) -- Baltimore researchers have successfully used an experimental DNA-based vaccine to protect against ragweed allergies, commonly known as hay fever.

Patients receiving the vaccine showed an average 60 percent reduction in allergy symptoms compared to those receiving a placebo, say researchers at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
