General Mills Issues Milk Allergy Alert on some 13-Ounce Boxes of Golden Grahams Cereal


MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--General Mills is voluntarily recalling 13-ounce boxes of Golden Grahams cereal produced on certain dates because of a product labeling issue. The product produced on the dates being recalled may contain milk, a potential allergen, though “milk” is not listed as an ingredient.

There has been one report of an allergic reaction associated with this product.

Consumers allergic to milk or milk products, or who are unsure of whether they are allergic to milk or milk products, should not consume product bearing the affected code dates and should contact General Mills for a full refund.

This voluntary recall includes only 13-ounce boxes of Golden Grahams cereal produced with the following “BETTER IF USED BY” code dates:

20JUL07WC, 21JUL07WC, 22JUL07WC, 23JUL07WC, 24JUL07WC, 25JUL07WC, 26JUL07WC

General Mills was in the process of changing its Golden Grahams cereal formula to remove milk as an ingredient. Golden Grahams cereals produced prior to the above affected dates list “milk” in the ingredients listing and in the potential allergens listing. Golden Grahams cereals produced after the above affected dates do not include milk and are not being recalled. No other General Mills cereals are affected by this recall.
